PRP Therapy from AestheticA
Advanced anti-ageing treatment for skin rejuvenation
Clients can expect a rejuvenated, natural glow to their face, with a smoother appearance, more colour and fewer lines.
The use of PRP therapy is now established in specialist aesthetics clinics, and we at AestheticA specialise in this treatment with some of our clinicians having active research interests in this area of medicine and both teach and lecture widely in its use.
PRP therapy works by collecting a small amount of a client's blood, which is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the blood platelets from other blood cells. The collected and separated platelets are then injected locally into the face to stimulate the rejuvenation process. The whole process is a closed system i.e. the blood is extracted, platelets separated, and then reinjected without any part of the blood coming into contact with the air or other environment.
Local anaesthetic can be applied to the areas that require treating, before the client's refined PRP is injected into the skin using a very fine needle. Key to the effectiveness of PRP are the growth factors released from the client's platelets. When injected into the skin, a multitude of these growth factors are released which stimulate surrounding cells to start the healing cascade. This in turn encourages the production of collagen and preadipocyte cells to plump and add volume.
Our aim is to rejuvenate our clients' skin and slow down the ageing process in their face, whether this is down to chronological ageing, or environmental or solar damage. This is done via mesenchymal and epithelial rejuvenation through injection of the patient's enriched autologous plasma. The impact of this is to regenerate by way of the biological stimulation of existing stem cells, by growth factors. Clients can expect a rejuvenated, natural glow to their face, with a smoother appearance, more colourn and fewer lines.
This procedure is commonly, but incorrectly, referred to as a 'Vampire facial'; this is a completely different technique and results vary substantially.
